What is an Industrial Air Dryer System?
An Industrial Air Dryer is a device for removing water vapor from compressed air. There are various types of Industrial Air Dryers. Their performance characteristics and requirements are typically defined by the dew point.
The process of air compression concentrates atmospheric contaminants, including water vapor, oils and particles, raising the dew point of the compressed air relative to free atmospheric air which leads to condensation within the pipes. All contaminants must be removed before compressed air can be used.
Water vapor and other contaminants are removed from the compressed air using Industrial Air Dryers to prevent condensation from occurring and to prevent moisture from interfering in sensitive industrial processes.
What types of Industrial Air Dryers can AGL provide?
We can supply a wide range and sizes of industrial air dryers to meet any application. The types that we provide are as follows:
- Refrigerated Air Dryers
- Desiccant Air Dryers
- Modular Dryers and Air Filtration
For those applications that are extremely sensitive to moisture or if low ambient temperatures are present, our line of desiccant dryers can be the solution. Our desiccant dryers are capable of providing dew points of -40°F or as low as -100°F
For the energy conscious client, we can offer a Heat of Compression (HOC) Desiccant Dryer. Our HOC dryers provide a cost effective solution to remove moisture from compressed air. Unlike typical desiccant dryers which use purge air to regenerate the desiccant towers which is very costly, the HOC dryer uses thermal energy generated during the air compression process to effectively regenerate the desiccant towers. Ideally suited for oil-free air applications, HOC dryers turn “waste heat” into energy savings.
